2. Bouffant veils are totally out and steer clear from those if you do want to stand out as the bride when you walk down the aisle. Gone are the days of bulky and bulgy bouffant veils that are also heavy. And this type of veil is a big no-no for slight and slim brides. Go for sheer, soft and straightforward veils that will let you stand out and accompany your attire.

3. Go for chiffon, georgette or tulle if you want a sheer type of veil. Most brides prefer long veils that cover them up and their gowns entirely. Lengthy veils are very elegant and at the same time traditional. Another advantage for using either of the aforementioned fabrics for veils is their flow. These fabrics are excellent when you want a dramatic consequent while you walk down the aisle and when you are being photographed.

4. Settle if you will add a headpiece or not. Tiaras have gained popularity over the years since they are elegant, sparkly and can add a touch of class. As much as possible, go for smaller tiaras that will not overwhelm your whole look especially your veil. If you use a sheer, straightforward veil, a small tiara will still stand out because of the bling effect. Flowers are also okay, but a bit outdated. Headbands, beads, pearls and other semi-precious stones can be used as hair accents and they are seen straight through sheer veils as well.

If you chose a veil that is heavy such as lace or other fabric, headpieces might not work perfectly with these types of veils. Go for a clean hairdo without the accents especially if your veil already has embellishment or other accents of its own.

5. Make a decision as to what length/size of veil you will use. Essentially, it is best to choose the right size and distance of veil that will all the time complement the gown. Most women prefer long veils that can cover their gowns' trains while some just prefer veils that are up to the distance of their gowns or half the skirt length. You should ask your couture to help out when choosing the ideal distance for your gown.

A wedding dress will not be faultless if there is no veil. It is all the time part of the holder so to speak, and it adds drama and class to the bride who wears and walks with it down the aisle.
